TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Allen-Bradley 1769-OB32 Compact I/O fractional output module is a solid-state device to use with CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 controllers. The 1769-OB32 is an elevated and high-density module with thirty-two (32) different output channels, split into two groups of 16 channels each. This module is helpful in applications with many I/O modules but limited panel space. It overall takes up 1.5 slots in the MicroLogix or CompactLogix 1500 chassis, allowing you to enhance the number of supported modules for a specific controller.

This module's output channel has a sourcing input setup. Each of the channels can carry 1.0 A at 30 °C, which is 86 °Fs, and 0.5 A at 60 °C, which is 140 °F. Each channel has a separate OFF output delay of 1.0 ms, and the same goes for each ON output delay of 0.1 ms. The 1769-OB32 uses a 32-Bit register. When a MicroLogix 1500 controller is used to install the module, or when Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 Logix Designer is used, you can also assess this register using the RSLogix 500 programming software. Monitoring or I/O forcing can be enabled by assessing the module register.

The 1769-OB32 can use different wire sizes, like 22 - 16 AWG for stranded and 22 – 14 AWG for the solid wire to plug this module. Always ensure the mounting tabs are perfectly aligned before connecting to the backplane. You may install this module next to any other Compact I/O module.

Allen-Bradley's 1769-OB32 is a solid-state 24VDC Compact I/O module. This module is wired to offer configuration and has an operational range of voltage up to 20.4 to 26.4 volts DC, 0.5 milliseconds (on mode), or four milliseconds (off mode) of output delay time (off mode). The 1769-OB32 can dissipate 4.5 Watts of energy at its highest temperature and uses about 3000 mA at 5.1 volts. The 1769-OB32 module has an off-state leakage current of 1.0 mA and a minimum on-state current of 1.0 mA at 26.4 volts.

The 1769-OB32 has a maximum on-state voltage drop of up to 1.0 VDC at 1 Amp. It gives the highest current of 1.0 Amps per point at 86 degrees Fahrenheit, or 30 ° Celsius, and the maximum current per point at 60 degrees Celsius, which is 140 degrees in Fahrenheit. Moreover, the 1769-OB32 has a significant surge current of 2.0 amps for ten milliseconds, which keeps repeating every 2 seconds. It is a one-slot width module that is typically installed on a DIN rail or a mounting plate.

The module measures 118 x 52.5 x 87 millimeters (4.65 x 2.07 x 3.43 inches) and weighs about 450 grams or 0.992 pounds. It comes up with an IEC 6-module power supply distance with a class 2 reinforced insulator.
