TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF4CI is a 4-channel analog current isolated output module from the CompactLogix series. The module’s output current signal is 0-20mA and 4-20mA, and the analog current range (Full) is 0-21mA and 3.2-21mA, respectively. It is compatible with MicroLogix 1500 along with compact Logix controllers. This module can also be installed/operated in the remote I/O chassis equipped with a part No. 1769-ADN DeviceNet communication adapter or a part No. 1769-AENTR Ethernet communication adapter.

The 1769-OF4CI analog output module controls actuators (FCEs) and implements control points. It uses RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000 Logix Designer software to configure channel parameters, limitations, and data formats.

Configurable channel parameters include the selection of output range, module compartment, description, and location designation. Available data formats are raw/scale data, engineering units, scaled to PID, and percentage of full scale.

The module provides a unique table of data per installation instance containing addresses of the channel, module mode bits, condition of the module, and other initialization parameters. This Allen-Bradley module is a low-maintenance module, and the module performs a self-test with auto-calibration always when the module turns on or reboots.

The 1769-OF4CI offers a 16-bit resolution and goes along with the Belden 8761 shielded compact modular analog-to-analog cable. The 1769-OF4CI is 330 μV per bit from 0 to 20 mA with a 5 Vdc bus current of 165 mA. It can also dissipate watts of heat. The conversion ratio is 110 ms (milliseconds), and the voltage-to-current ratio is 2.9 ms (milliseconds). The module has a 0-500 ohms resistive load and an inductive output load of 0.1 mH.

The 1769-OF4CI has electrical discharges, which could damage integrated circuits or semiconductors. Hence, when touching the device, you should manage a grounded object to discharge static electricity flowing in it. Avoid touching bus terminals or connecting pins and use a static-free work area if possible. Store the 1769-OF4CI in an electrostatically shielded enclosure when not in use.

The 1769-OF4CI has an accuracy of +/- 0.35% and a temperature fluctuation accuracy of +/- 0.0058% per degree Celsius. The 1769-OF4CI has a nonlinearity of +/-0.05% and a repeatability of +/-0.005%. There is no required field calibration, and the module has an error margin of +/- 0.55% and a nominal output impedance of fewer than 1 MΩ.

The device also offers open and short circuits protection along with output overvoltage protection. The module has a maximum short-circuit current of approximately 21mA. With 118 by 35 by 87 millimeters (mm) in size (4.65 x 1.38x 3.43) inches and weighing around 270 grams, the 1769-OF4CI power output module is compact (0.60 pounds).
