The Allen-Bradley 1769-SDN is a CompactLogix DeviceNet Scanner Communication Module designed to facilitate seamless communication between CompactLogix controllers, MicroLogix 1500 programmable controllers, and DeviceNet devices. Measuring 118 x 87 x 35 millimeters and weighing approximately 280 grams, this module operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. It is optimized for energy efficiency with a bus current draw of 440 mA at 5 Volts DC. The scanner efficiently manages data transfer by sending strobe, poll, change of state, or cyclic I/O messages, and it can access inputs and outputs from DeviceNet-enabled equipment, with a power supply distance rating of 4. The 1769-SDN is powered through the backplane, requiring no external power supply, and can be easily installed in any available slot within the controller assembly with a default communication rate of 125kbps.
