The Allen-Bradley 1794-ASB is a Remote I/O communication adapter module designed as part of the FLEX I/O series, facilitating distributed I/O setups by connecting FLEX I/O modules to I/O scanner ports. Equipped with a single Remote I/O interface, it supports legacy RIO protocols and is compatible with a range of Allen-Bradley controllers, including PLC2, PLC3, PLC5, and SLC500, as well as contemporary Logix platforms and third-party devices. Operating at communication rates of 57.6Kbps, 115.2Kbps, and 230.4Kbps, the module supplies 24VDC nominal power, converting it to 5VDC for the backplane, and includes built-in status LEDs for operational monitoring. It accommodates up to eight FLEX I/O modules, offers power and thermal dissipation efficiency, and requires installation in a protective enclosure due to its open-type design.
