The Allen-Bradley 22B-D2P3N104 programmable automatic controller is a Variable Frequency Drive PowerFlex 40 (VFD). It is driven by a 3-phase, 342-528 input voltage with an appropriate motor activity of 2.3 A and 0.75 KW (1 HP).


It is a member of the series of 3-phase PowerFlex 40 Variable Frequency AC drives and has an output rating of 0.75 kW (1.0 hp) and 2.3 amps. It has an IP20-rated NEMA/UL-type open housing and a 480-Volt input voltage between 50 and 60 Hertz. Utilizing a DIN rail, assembly a B frame is quick and easy.

In addition to sensorless vector control, strong overload safety, relays pre-charge, a detachable MOV, variable PWM frequency for silent operation, and source control for flexible wiring, it features enhanced performance attributes. It includes an integral PID loop to manage proportionate, integrated, and differentiated functions. Processes feedback forms like tension, flow, & pressure can be determined by the user. The PID loop will then create error values using these reference points, increasing application functionality. Both fundamental trim management and exclusive control are possible with it.

Certifications and Approvals

It has received certifications and approvals from UL, CUL, KCC, and EAC. It can operate with unground systems thanks to a detachable MOV. Its ground fault prevention assures dependable performance during the motor's starting and running periods. The motor overload protection for Class 10 is 150% at 1 minute and 200% at 3 seconds. Additionally, it prevents excessive current with a 200% hardware limitation and a 300% instantaneous failure.

Control Systems Integration

It can accomplish accurate speed and torque management via sensorless vector control with strong beginning torque performance. Full integration with control systems, particularly frameworks for Logix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC), may be accomplished via the integrated RS485 connection interface or additional communication modules that this controller supports. Drive variables are directly connected to the controller’s system with complete integration, which can be changed by reasoning and assigned to various triggers to change the drive setup dynamically.


It is driven by a 342-528 VAC 3-phase input voltage source with a 48–63 Hertz input frequency and 3.2 amps input current. It has a constant current of 2.3 amps, an output voltage of 0-460 VAC, a 3-phase output voltage, and a frequency between 0-400 Hz. The relevant motor has a rating of 1.0 hp or 0.75 kW. It also has two unipolar analog inputs, one bipolar analog input, three static discrete inputs, four highly configurable discrete inputs, one N.O./N.C relay output, and one highly configurable relay output.
