The Allen-Bradley 2706-B23J16 messaging device is equipped with a 14.4 x 14.4 inch Vacuum Fluorescent Display capable of displaying up to 20 characters each on two lines in English, International, or Cyrillic, with colors including green, red, or amber, and readable from 240 feet away. It features 16 KB of RAM and 128 KB of user application and flash memory, along with a Y2K-compliant real-time clock with a replaceable battery. This device offers extensive connectivity through RS-232 ports, supporting serial ASCII protocols and point-to-point slave communications, and can also directly connect to SLC and PLC systems via Channel 0. It operates on 85-264V AC, supports offline programming with RS-232 auto-wakeup, and boasts a more compact design, with a depth of just 3 inches and a reduced weight of 3.7 lbs, while being resilient to power failures even during message capture.
