The Allen-Bradley PLC-5-25 is a versatile Classic PLC-5 processor designed for either centralized or distributed control architectures, featuring a DH+ port and a Remote I/O port for robust real-time data exchange. It employs Ladder-logic and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) programming, with user memory starting at 13K words, expandable to 17K or 21K, and supports up to 1024 inputs and outputs spread across up to 17 I/O chassis. The system effectively utilizes a backplane current load of 2.5A at 5V with a fast I/O scan time of 10ms per rack. The PLC-5-25 is enhanced with battery-backed SRAM and EEPROM-based memory, programmable fault response, time-interrupt routines, and capability for subprogram calls, backed by a 1785-BCM Control Module and 1785-BEM Expansion Module for added reliability.
