The National Instruments PCI-6036E is a low-cost multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) device designed for a diverse array of applications, utilizing E Series technology to deliver reliable 16-bit performance. It features sixteen single-ended or eight differential input channels, along with two 16-bit output channels. The PCI-6036E is equipped with eight digital I/O lines and two 24-bit, 20 MHz counter/clocks, achieving a sampling rate of 200 kS/s and an output rate of 10 kS/s. The device supports flexible operating system and application development environments through NI hardware and driver software options, enabling users to enhance their DAQ systems with NI signal conditioning for various sensor types and voltage measurements.

This self-calibration process involves writing values to onboard calibration DACs and allows for external calibration with a recommended interval of one year, using a reference voltage between 6 and 10 V. The device measures 6.9 x 4.2 inches and weighs 4 oz, with an operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of -20 to 70 °C. Although the end-of-life status for the PCI-6036E has been announced by National Instruments, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
