The National Instruments SCXI-1102 is a 32-channel Voltage Input Module designed for high-accuracy voltage and thermocouple measurements. This module features hardware scanning capability for cold-junction sensors and offers DC input coupling with a 2 Hz bandwidth. Each channel is protected against overvoltage with a tolerance of ±42 V and supports a maximum sampling rate of 333 kS/s. Due to its 2 Hz bandwidth, users must allow approximately 3 seconds after making gain adjustments to achieve accurate readings. The SCXI-1102 can process millivolt and volt signals, as well as current inputs ranging from 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 0 mA. It is also compatible with signals from RTDs when used in conjunction with an SCXI-1581 excitation source. The module is designed to work seamlessly with various terminal blocks including the SCXI-1300, SCXI-1303, SCXI-1308, SCXI-1310, TC-2095, TBX-1303, and TBX-96. For precision in thermocouple applications, the SCXI-1303 is recommended. To operate the SCXI-1102, an SCXI chassis or PXI/SCXI combination chassis, an SCXI-1600 or E/M Series DAQ device, and appropriate cabling, connectors, and sensors are required. Users can develop applications using NI-DAQmx driver software and additional environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. The SCXI-1102 is equipped with a 96-pin male DIN C connector and a 50-pin male ribbon cable rear connector. The module has a physical dimension of 1.2 x 6.8 x 8.0 inches, weighs 24.6 oz., and operates within a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C. While it has been marked as obsolete by National Instruments, the SCXI-1102 remains available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves.
