The Sensor Module Cabinet-Mounted SMC20 is a crucial component of the Sinamics S120 AC Drive system. It evaluates encoder signals and transmits the speed, actual position value, rotor position, and, if necessary, the motor temperature via DRIVE-CLiQ to the Control Unit. Understanding the LED indicators on the SMC20 can help you monitor its status and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Here's what each LED status means:
If the SMC20 shows a red continuous light, it means the component has at least one fault. The LED is activated irrespective of whether the corresponding messages have been reconfigured. To rectify this, you need to remove and acknowledge the fault.
If the LED flashes green/red at a frequency of 0.5 Hz, it means firmware is being downloaded. If it flashes at 2 Hz, the firmware download is complete, and the system is waiting for POWER ON. In this case, you need to carry out a POWER ON.
If the LED is flashing green/orange or red/orange, it means component recognition via LED is activated. The specific status depends on the LED status when component recognition was activated.
Understanding these LED indicators can help you ensure the smooth operation of your Sinamics S120 AC Drive and troubleshoot any issues promptly. For more detailed information on the cause of faults and how they can be rectified, refer to the SINAMICS S120 Commissioning Manual (IH1) and SINAMICS S120/S150 List Manual (LH1).
