TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

A module from the small I/O series made by Allen-Bradley, the 1769-IT6 is a programmable thermocouple/mV input controller. It is an instrument that detects thermocouple and millivolt signals. Any combination of up to six millivolt or thermocouple analog sensors can be used to record these readings as analog data in digital form. It offers detection and signaling for over-range, under-range, and open circuits. Each input channel may be configured by system-compatible software to interact with certain filter frequencies, input devices, and data types.

There are 2 CJC sensors and 6 RTD inputs on the 1769-IT6 Compact Input Module. The converter is a Sigma Delta type, and depending on the input filter and settings, the reaction time per channel ranges from 3 to 300 ms. Through the bus, which has a current consumption of 5V dc at 140 mA and 24V dc at 30 mA, it interacts with the controller. This input module automatically calibrates itself upon startup and whenever a channel is enabled. Additionally, auto-calibration may be set to run on a regular basis.

A few certifications, including c-UL-us, CE, RCM, and EAC, are present on the 1769-IT6. Before or after installation, it can be linked to a neighboring I/O module or the controller. A second measurement device may be added, but to prevent electrical noise, it must be positioned at least two slots distant from the AC power supply. To ensure optimal airflow, leave at least two inches between each component before mounting.

Each thermocouple in this module has a broad temperature range. The highest heat dissipation is 1.5W. The module has an isolation voltage of 720V dc for 1 minute (qualification test), group to bus, and its rated operating voltage is 30V ac/30V dc. Each analog input has the option to be scaled for PID, Raw/Proportional Data, or engineering units. The module is approximately 276g (0.61 pounds) in weight and its dimensions are 118 mm x 35 mm x 87 mm (4.65 in x 1.38 in x 3.43 in).

The fact that thermocouple instruments are used specifically for measuring temperature makes this module perfect for them. Additionally, millivolt signals are frequently utilized to interface transducers. For each of the six channels, it is built with the capacity to detect open-circuit, short-circuit, over-range, and under-range conditions. To stabilize the measurement, selectable input filters are also offered. There are several selectable input filters, including 10, 50, 250, 500, and 1000 Hz.
