TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF4 analog output module generates voltage/current signals. This module includes four single-ended outputs with a 0 to 10V dc output voltage range and a 0 to 20 mA output current range. The module has a bus draw a current of 120 mA at 5V dc and 170 mA at 24V dc, and its resolution is 15-bit plus sign unipolar and bipolar. The module can dissipate 2.86 Total Watts of heat and has a maximum conversion rate of 3.8 ms.

The 1769-OF4 module has a step response rating of 63% of 2.9 ms, resistivity load specifications for current of 0...600 Ω, and voltage specifications of 1 kΩ or more. The maximum inductive load for the 1769-OF4 is 0.1 mH (current limitations) and 1.0 µF. (voltage loads). At 25 °C (77 °F), it boasts an overall accuracy of 0.5% full scale and an output ripple of 0.05% between 0 and 50 kHz.

The accuracy drift for this analog output module is 0.0086% (per °C), while the non-linearity margin is 0.05%. Additionally, it has a repeatability of 0.05 percent and a module error margin of 0.8% at 0...60 °C (0..140 °F). The 1769-OF4 module has an output impedance of 1 1 M for current output. The 1769-OF4 is a component of Allen Bradley's programmable automation controllers and serves as an output control module for MicroLogix and CompactLogix controllers. The modulating Final Control Elements (FCE) of a particular control loop, such as modulation valves, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Dampers, and signaling equipment like indicators, recorders, and data loggers, are driven by this module.

Four embedded single-ended output channels are present in this analog output. The signal types that may be used on each channel independently include 0...20 mA, 4...20 mA for the current channel and 0...10V dc, 0...5V dc, and 1...5V dc for the voltage channel. The output resolution of this module, which can operate in a unipolar or bipolar fashion, is 15 bits. The analog signal can be used as the control output of a PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) controller or applied to it. It can also be utilized to resend a signal to a receiver, such as indicators, loggers, data acquisition systems, and other instruments of a similar kind. The analog output may also be initiated by an HMI (Human Machine Interface), SCADA, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or another electrical or computer-based manual loader.

Although the power supply distance rating places restrictions on the module implementation, the installation of the 1769-OF4 is supported with either a MicroLogix 1500 or a CompactLogix controller. The 1769-OF4's required distance rating is 8. Another power source may be inserted in the CompactLogix assembly if more than 8 modules are required.
