The Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE is a high-performance counter module within the SLC 500 family, ideal for applications requiring bidirectional counting, motion detection, and high-speed discrete input processing. It easily integrates into any SLC 500 chassis and can be placed locally or remotely alongside a CPU or communication adapter. This versatile module supports multiple modes including Range, Rate, and Sequencer, and features differential and single-ended wiring with a nominal input voltage of 5VDC. With a minimum pulse width of 10 µs and varied input frequency capabilities reaching up to 32,767 kHz in Range Rate mode, it is suitable for both factory and process automation environments. Additionally, it provides four open collector outputs adaptable to different voltage levels and comes with diagnostic LEDs and internal status monitoring for efficient troubleshooting.
