The Allen-Bradley 1746-OA8 is an SLC 500 AC output module designed for energizing electrical loads within a voltage range of 85-264 VAC, operating at frequencies between 47 to 63 Hz. It occupies a single slot in the 1746 chassis, delivering nominal output voltages of 120 VAC and 240 VAC. Each channel supports a continuous output current of up to 1.0 A at 30 °C, decreasing to 0.5 A at 60 °C, with a total module output of 8.0 A and 4.0 A under the same conditions, respectively. This module features quick response times with an ON signal delay of 1 ms and an OFF delay of 11 ms for resistive loads, while its maximum surge current per point reaches 10 A for a brief 25 ms. The unit operates at an ambient temperature between 0 to 60 °C and tolerates environmental conditions within 5-95% relative humidity. With standards compliance, such as NEMA ICS 2-230 Noise Immunity, and certifications from UL and CSA, the 1746-OA8 is engineered for reliability in demanding industrial environments.
