The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is a direct communication module from the SLC 500 family, designed to facilitate data exchange on the Remote I/O (RIO) industrial network, compatible with both fixed and modular style Programmable Logic Controllers. Occupying a single slot in the 500 SLC chassis, it enables distributed processing by linking SLC 500 controllers via an RIO link. This module supports variable communication speeds with extended transmission capabilities, and is equipped with LED indicators, a removable door cover, and DIP switches for easy configuration. Operating efficiently within a temperature range of 32°F to 140°F, the 1747-DCM adheres to stringent standards such as NEMA ICS 2-230 and offers reliable performance with a backplane consumption of 360 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC.
