The Allen-Bradley 1747-L40 is a robust processor designed for reliable performance, featuring a 1,024-word instruction capacity and delivering a typical scan time of 8 milliseconds per 1K words. This module integrates a power supply and fixed I/O within a single unit, utilizing capacitor-backed RAM for memory. It can operate in temperatures from 32 to 140 °F, with optimal cooling managed through standard convection and additional methods if high ambient heat is present. Rated with a power supply inrush of 40A and a bit execution time of 4 milliseconds, the 1747-L40 demands a maximum power of 50 VA, using 14 AWG wiring for connectivity, while ensuring the main power breaker is easily accessible outside the enclosure for safety and maintenance efficiency.
