The Allen-Bradley 1756-ENET is a ControlLogix communication module equipped with EtherNet/IP interface capabilities, catering to applications requiring real-time control, time synchronization, and motion. With support for 128 Logix and 64 TCP/IP connections, it offers a robust communication interface through a single RJ-45 port, achieving data transfer rates of 100 Mbps via unshielded category 5 twisted-pair cables. Despite its discontinuation and replacement by the 1756-ENBT, the 1756-ENET remains notable for its adherence to the CIP safety standard, allowing simultaneous transfer of safety and control data, and offering advanced features such as explicit protected mode and support for device level ring networks.
