The Allen-Bradley 1756-ESMCAP is a capacitor-based Energy Storage Module designed for use with ControlLogix L7 and GuardLogix L7 controllers, providing reliable program retention without the need for a battery. This module effectively powers the saving process to Nonvolatile Storage (NVS) when the power supply is interrupted, while also having the capability to clear the NVS memory. Operating with a current draw of 330 mA at 5.1V DC, it features a real-time clock for time synchronization and dissipates a maximum of 13.3 watts. Suitable for installation in any ControlLogix system chassis slot, the 1756-ESMCAP operates within a temperature range of 0 - 60 degrees Celsius and demonstrates a shock absorption capacity of 30g, making it apt for clean, dry industrial settings adhering to Overvoltage Category II standards. Once installed, it begins its charging process, as indicated by its integrated charging status indicators, and must remain connected even when the power is off to ensure program security.
