TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L85E ControlLogix 5580 controller provides improved performance, efficiency, and security to meet the growing demands of intelligent machines and manufacturing equipment. Its user memory is 40 MB.

The 1756-L85E controller's processing speed is faster than previous controllers in the same series. It has a USB 2.0 connector and an RJ-45 (Registered Jack-45) 10-1000 Mbps Ethernet port as built-in communication interfaces. It has a maximum capacity of 128,000 digital and 4,000 analog Inputs/Outputs and 300 EtherNet/IP nodes.

For high-speed applications, the 1756-L85E controller employs the Studio 5000 software with an incorporated motion through EtherNet/IP. Applications requiring high-performance I/O, motion control, and communication services are best suited for this controller. Several communication protocols, including DeviceNet, SynchLink, Data Highway Plus (DH+), and 3rd-party device networks, can be used to connect it to other machines.

The 1756-L85E controller can withstand operational vibrations of 2G at 10-500 Hz, shocks of 30G when working, and shocks of 30G when not functioning. It can execute 32 tasks, each containing up to 1000 embedded programs. User applications can be efficiently separated and prioritized by establishing tasks based on the intended execution order.

This controller's integrated Ethernet port may be set up using the BOOTP/DHCP tool and given a dynamic or static IP address. It supports up to 1GB of Ethernet connection and has an auto-negotiation capability.

Up to 300 nodes, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), can be connected. Additionally, it may be used to communicate and share information with similar software systems from 3rd-party providers.

It is OPC Data Access and OPC User Access compatible, enabling simple interaction with industrial software programs like databases, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and other software.

To function, this controller needs firmware. The ControlFlash utility tool can be used to upgrade or downgrade firmware. By making changes to the firmware, known issues and defects may be resolved, necessary features can be added, and compatibility with existing or brand-new apps can be achieved. The procedure must not be interrupted when making firmware upgrades since doing so might render the controller unusable.
