The Allen-Bradley 1756-RIO is a versatile Remote I/O Module designed to integrate seamlessly with ControlLogix processors, facilitating connectivity to Remote I/O networks as both an adapter and scanner. This module efficiently handles block-transfer, digital, specialty, and analog data, ensuring regular and reliable data exchanges between controllers and I/O adapter connections without needing message instructions. With support for up to 32 physical adapters on a single remote I/O channel and compatibility with various baud rates and rack combinations, it fully automates block transfers across all locations. Powered by a 1756-chassis power supply, the 1756-RIO operates with a maximum current of 450 mA at 5.1V DC and 5 mA at 24V DC, and features a continuous isolation voltage of 50V with basic insulation. Easily installed in any ControlLogix chassis slot, it supports both simplex and redundant controller topologies, and its compatible with a wide range of standard and redundant power supplies, serving as an ideal solution for interfacing with HMI and SCADA systems through Allen-Bradley communication cards.
