TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Allen-Bradley Compact 1769-IF16C I/O module is compatible with the Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) like CompactLogix and the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) like MicroLogix 1500. The 1769-IF16C module has 16 single-ended input channels to connect with field instruments and supplies analog typical operating ranges of 0...20 mA or 4...20 mA to its input channels.
The 1769-IF16C links field instruments like controllers and transmitters so they can receive feedback from comparable devices like panel meters, data loggers, modulating valves, variable frequency drives (VFD), and other similar ones. Additionally, signal splitters' or isolators' conditioned output signals may be received through it.
An inbuilt Sigma-Delta Analog-to-Digital (ADC) converter is included in the 1769-IF16C. This converter has a maximum resolution of 15 bits for bipolar configuration and a maximum resolution of 16 for unipolar configuration to convert analog signals to digital data. Full-scale analog ranges of 0...21 mA and 3.2...21 mA are accepted by this module. Calibrating the 1769-IF16C is not necessary. A software-configurable input filter is available for each channel, and it is frequently used to remove irregularities from analog input signals that are changing quickly. Noises can be reduced, and the module can ignore small changes by specifying an input filter.
The RSLogix 500 and 5000, or Studio 5000 Logix programming software, can be used to set up the 1769-IF16C. The proper software is RSLogix 500 when utilized with MicroLogix 1500. CompactLogix controllers with version 20.11 or lower are used with RSLogix 5000, while controllers with version 21.00 or higher are used with Studio 5000.
The 1769-IF16C has a maximum bus current requirement of 190 mA at 5V dc and 70 mA at 24V dc. It emits a total of 4 Watts of heat. At 25 °C (77 °F), it has an overall accuracy of 0.5% full scale for filters running at 16 Hz, 50 Hz, and 60 Hz, drifting by 0.0045% per °C as the temperature rises. For 16 Hz filters, it has 0.03% non-linearity, 0.03% repeatability, and 1.25% module error throughout the whole temperature range.
The maximum input overload for the 1769-IF16C is 28 mA at 7.0V dc. It has a tested isolation voltage of 30V dc between the input group and the bus isolation. This isolation voltage has been tested at 710V dc / 500V ac for one minute. Its operating shock rating is 20 g for 11 ms on a DIN rail or 30 g for 11 ms when installed in a panel-mounted installation style. The 1769-IF16C can operate between 0 °C and 60 °C (32 °F and 140 °F), and it may be stored at temperatures between -40 °C and 85 °C (-40 °F and 185 °F). It measures 118 mm x 87 mm x 35 mm (4.65 in. x 3.43 in. x 1.38 in.) and weighs around 281 g (0.62 pounds).
