TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L36ERM Compact GuardLogix controller works well for applications that require certifications of Performance Level (PL) and SIL 3. This controller offers motion control through various integrated safety (PAC) and an Ethernet I/P.
This controller has 1.5MB of safety memory and 3MB of standard memory. It uses Secure Digital (SD) cards with capacities ranging from 1GB to 2GB (non-volatile memory), including the 1784-SD2, which are available for non-volatile memory; you can increase the capacity of this integrated memory. Besides memory expansion, you can also use an SD card for IP address configuration for the controller.
The 1769-L36ERMS controller, like other controllers of the CompactLogix 5370 group, offers the scalability to connect with a vast range of industrial applications. It has one USB port and two Ethernet connections. This module also supports distributed, local I/O module control and local extension modules.
The 1769-L36ERMS has specific built-in communication interfaces, including dual Ethernet connectivity with transmission speeds of up to 10/100 Mbps. The module also uses a Linear, Device Level Ring and Star topologies. Commercially available Cat5 or higher specification cables are mandatory for network installation areas, depending on the controller’s installation. The built-in rotary switches, RSLinx configuration software, and BOOTP DHCP IP setup tool can adjust the controller's IP address. This module can communicate with Human Machine Interfaces.
The 1769-L36ERMS Compact GuardLogix controller supports standard CompactLogix input/output modules. The two Ethernet communication ports support Linear, Star, and DLR topologies. The controller uses the CIP security protocol and a socket interface for usage with devices incompatible with the 1/P Ethernet application protocol.
Dual Ethernet communication ports with this module allow up to 48 different Ethernet connections to communicate while supporting up to 30localized 1/0 modules. You can program this controller with various IEC- 61131-3 programming languages, such as structured text, sequential function chart, relay scale, and function block.
The 1769-L36ERMS can resist a working shock of up to 30 G when placed on a panel or 20 G (approx.) when installed on the DIN rail. Additionally, this controller offers a 30 G operating shock rating when mounted on a DIN rail and a 40 G rating when mounted on a panel. The controller holds 6 kilovolts of contact discharge and 8 kilovolts of air discharge for electrostatic discharge immunity.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L36ERMS controller's EFT/B immunity rating is +/- 3 kilovolts at 5 kilohertz for communication ports; however, it is +/- 2 kilovolts line-earth. The 1769-L36ERMS controller has a transient surge immunity and an excellent rating of +/- 2 kilovolts line-earth on the various communication ports.
