TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C is a Compact current output analog module. This module may be used with MicroLogix 1500 controllers as well as various 1769 and 1768 CompactLogix controllers. It is usually used for sending signals to receiving and measuring components as well as driving the Final Control Elements (FCE) in a control loop.

The 1769-OF8C has 8 single-ended outputs with current ranges of 0...20 mA and 4...20 mA. The resolution is 16 bits unipolar. It has a maximum conversion rate for all channels of 5 ms and a step response to 63% smaller than 2.9 ms. The step response is the amount of time that passes between giving the D/A converter the order to move from minimum to full range and when the device reaches 63% of full range.

The 1769-OF8C can be used to drive positioners, modulating control valves, variable frequency drives (VFD), and other typical final control components. For use in the automated control loop, this module may be integrated into the Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) controller built into the CPU. This device's signals can be received by panel meters, data loggers, signal splitters, and other appropriate receiving and measuring components.

Along with the 1769 and 1768 CompactLogix assembly, the 1769-OF8C may be placed as local I/O and a component of the expansion I/O rack. Additionally, it is compatible with MicroLogix 1500 controllers. The setup software changes depending on the controller being used. While RSLogix 500 is utilized with MicroLogix 1500 controller, RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000 Logix Designer are compatible with CompactLogix.

On the front of the 1769-OF8C, there is a single LED indication that goes green when the module is not having issues. In the event that an open-loop issue is detected, this status LED light can alert the users. Users should have established processes for this sort of situation since this circumstance might disrupt the PLC software. Additionally, the module incorporates facilities for over-current and over-voltage safety. An incorporated detachable terminal block with finger-safe protection for the wiring to the actuators is included with the 1769-OF8C output module. At the front of the output module, there is a door that covers this terminal block. The wiring for this module is typically routed from underneath the module to the output terminals.

The 1769-OF8C also includes a replacement door kit, and it uses wires of the type Cu-90 °C (194 °F) with two distinct American Wire Gauge (AWG) sizes: solid - 22...14 AWG, and stranded - 22...16 AWG. The 1769-OF8C has an output impedance of more than 1 MΩ and is protected from short- and open-circuiting. The module is designed to operate in the 0 to 60 °C temperature range. At 25 °C (77 °F), its accuracy is 0.35% full scale. The 1769-OF8C has an approximate weight of 281g (0.62 pounds), and its dimensions are 118 mm x 35 mm x 87 mm (4.65 in x 1.38 in x 3.43 in).
