The Allen-Bradley 1771-ASB is a versatile PLC 5 Universal Remote I/O Adapter Module designed to seamlessly interface with I/O modules within a 1771 I/O chassis, enhancing communication via a Remote I/O scanner port. It efficiently reduces startup, installation, and maintenance costs by positioning I/O closer to actuators and sensors, while supporting up to 32 I/O-adapter devices through its link. Offering communication rates of 57.6 Kbps, 115 Kbps, and 230.4 Kbps, the module facilitates faster backplane scanning and data transmission up to 2500 feet and accommodates both older and enhanced RIO network versions with its support for 82 Ohm or 150 Ohm terminating resistors. It incorporates robust status indicators and diagnostic features, aiding swift troubleshooting and data management through parallel data exchange, and supports various slot configurations, making it an essential component for efficient operations and improved scan times in industrial environments.
