The Allen-Bradley 1771-IE is an 8-bit Analog Input Module designed to convert analog signals into 3-digit BCD values for compatibility with PC processors utilizing the 1771 I/O structure. It features eight single-ended channels that can accommodate a variety of analog sensing devices, delivering reliable measurements of variables such as light intensity, temperature, pressure, and position. With built-in self-diagnostics, this module ensures data integrity by detecting and halting data transfer upon error detection, requiring correction before resuming operations. Installation is straightforward with the 1771-WB Field Wiring Arm and proper cabling like Belden 8761. For optimal performance, the module should be placed in isolated I/O slots, away from high-voltage modules to minimize noise.
