It operates on a 5 Volt DC power supply provided by the I/O module with a current requirement of 1 Amp. Crafted for internal use, the card facilitates reliable RIO communication between I/O modules and various devices, provided they are installed in controlled environments free from external elements such as rain or UV exposure. For safe installation, power must be disconnected from the host system; once positioned, manual addition or autoconfiguration of connected devices is simplified by setting the card to program mode, with support for daisy-chain or trunkline-dropline configurations, but not star connections.
