The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RN6 is an adapter for communicating to devices within the same network. It is layered upon an already-existing Logical module to enable Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, & DH-485 network access. It can be used with graphic operator terminals featuring PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, and PanelView Plus 6 compatibilities. It may only be placed with operator terminals with screens between 7 and 15 inches or 700 and 1500 pixels. As PanelView Plus 6 does not allow native remote I/O connections, only Data Highway Plus and DH485 are allowed when used with this module. Also, PanelView Plus 7 graphical operating interfaces are incompatible with this module.

One DH485 port and one DH+/RIO communication connector are included with this module. The DH485 port has six pins, and the DH+/RIO has three connecting pins. These ports are Phoenix connectors. It also features two LED status indicators that display when the channel is online and offline. Blinking green means the device is the only node on the network. There is a bright green light when the device is online and receiving data. It shows blinking red for DH-485: Redundant Node (DH+): Parity Error, and bright red for Failed Self-Test.

The multi-node and long-distance communication features of the DH+ and RIO systems are supported. These communication protocols support the daisy-chain structure and quick data transfer rates. Use of the 1770-CD or Belden Blue Hose wire is required. This also features daisy ring topology and demands using Belden part numbers 3106A or 9842 for DH-485 connection.

This has indicators that display the DH-485 or DH+ network connections' current state. This controller can communicate with other controllers on the DH-485 network by sending and receiving messages to and from them. This module does allow for monitoring systems and programming. Remember that a DH-485 connection's performance may be impacted by heavy traffic, which might waste time and reduce efficiency. It transmits data from one gadget to another. This module keeps track of the devices and processes’ status. It provides program upload and download, data monitoring, and administrative controls.

This module's maximum network length is 4,000 ft. A maximum of 32 devices can be connected at once. Without causing the network any disruption, it can also remove and add nodes. The protocol governing message transmission on the DH-485 network supports both initiators and receivers. The amount at the highest customizable node address is the most addresses the initiators search before returning to zero. For all initiators and receivers, the default value is 31. The Controller's network must include at least one initiator. This module has a transport weight of 3 lbs and measurements including 11 by 8 by 6 inches.
