The Allen-Bradley MVI56E-LDM Linux Development Module by Prosoft Technology is designed for creating and integrating Linux-based custom applications with ControlLogix systems. It features a 400MHz ARM9 G20 processor running Linux kernel 2.6.33.7 with Timesys distribution, equipped with a 64 MB SDRAM and 256 MB NAND Flash memory. The module includes two independent Ethernet ports with 10/100 Mbps transmission and auto-crossover detection, alongside two serial ports configurable for RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 protocols. It boasts a single-slot, fanless design and a scrolling LED display for custom messages. The module supports development through a Linux virtual machine with a comprehensive toolchain, libraries, and Eclipse IDE, available online. Operating seamlessly in temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, it draws power at 800 mA from 5 VDC and 3 mA from 24 VDC, ensuring a robust integration experience in industrial environments.
