The National Instruments part number 777559-01 represents the PCI-4060 Digital Multimeter Instrument Kit, designed for integration into PC-based systems. This versatile device functions as a slave bus type multimeter, capable of measuring voltage, current, and resistance with precision similar to a traditional multimeter. Additionally, it supports temperature and frequency measurements, along with diode testing for both AC and DC parameters. The 777559-01 is particularly cost-effective, making it an ideal choice for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and educational laboratories.

The multimeter operates in two modes: AC and DC. In AC mode, it can measure voltages ranging from 20 Vrms to 250 Vrms, while in DC mode, it offers a maximum resolution of up to 5.5 digits, operating within the voltage range of +20 mV to +250 V. Resistance measurements can be conducted using both 2-wire and 4-wire methods; the 2-wire method allows measurements between 200 Ω and 200 MΩ, complemented by an auto-ranging feature. The 4-wire method is beneficial for accurately measuring low-valued resistances, with a range from 200 Ω to 2 MΩ, by eliminating lead resistance effects. For diode testing, the device excites the diode, measuring the resulting voltage drop; a reading of 2.20V indicates a defective or reverse-biased diode. The multimeter requires a warm-up time of approximately 30 minutes for optimal performance and features an input resistance of 1 MΩ alongside a bandwidth of 20 Hz to 25 kHz. Powering the device requires a +5 VDC supply at 250 mA during operational mode, and it can safely handle a maximum working voltage of 300 V between any input terminal and earth ground.

This comprehensive instrument is supported by the NI-DMM driver software, ensuring effective integration in a wide array of applications.
