The National Instruments part number 778440-02 is the PCI-7350 Motion Controller Device, designed for advanced motion control applications involving up to eight axes, suitable for a range of industrial, laboratory, and automation tasks requiring precise control of stepper and servo motors. This device is capable of managing both brushed and brushless DC servo motors, piezo motor systems, and various other servo devices with a maximum step frequency of 8 MHz, accommodating full, half, and micro-stepping modes. The PCI-7350 features trajectory update rates of 62.5 µs to 5 ms per sample for servo control and 62.5 to 500 µs per sample for stepper control, with a PID rate that allows processing of two axes per 62.5 µs. Its connectivity options include a 68-pin high-density motion I/O connector for closed-loop control and a separate 68-pin high-density digital I/O connector that provides 64 bits of digital I/O and 12 inputs for Hall effect sensors. The device also includes 24 inputs (three per axis) and eight outputs (one per axis), enhancing the accuracy of motion control. Operating within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius and storing safely between –20 to 70 degrees Celsius, the PCI-7350 is designed for use in environments with a relative humidity of 10% to 90% noncondensing, and can be mounted at altitudes of up to 2000 meters. With compact physical dimensions of 6.9 in. × 3.9 in. and a lightweight of 0.25 lb, it is easy to integrate into digital systems. The device requires a power supply of +3.3 V to -12 V at a consumption of 18 Watts, and it offers 8 digital I/O ports with 8 bits each, as well as 2 PWM outputs at 50 kHz, 8-bit resolution. The PCI-7350 Motion Controller Device is supported by the NI-Motion software driver for seamless functionality in motion control applications.
