The National Instruments 779079-03, designated as the PXI-5671, is a highly versatile RF Vector Signal Analyzer engineered for demanding applications across various industries. This comprehensive system integrates the NI PXI-5610 upconverter module and the NI PXI-5441 arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) module, featuring 256 MB of onboard memory. It supports an extensive frequency range from 250 kHz to 2.7 GHz, providing exceptional testing and measurement capabilities. The system employs advanced quadrature digital upconversion (DUC) technology, which significantly enhances waveform download and signal generation efficiency, while delivering an instantaneous bandwidth of 20 MHz and enabling signal bandwidths up to 6.6 MHz.

The internal frequency reference operates at 10 MHz, boasting impressive temperature stability of ± 20 ppb, with an initial accuracy of ± 50 ppb. Additionally, aging characteristics are rated at ± 100 ppb per year and ± 1 ppb per day following 72 hours of operation. The RF output performance of the NI 779079-03 is calibrated for excellence, with an output power range of -145 to +10 dBm, including robust overload protection featuring a maximum reverse RF power tolerance of 4 W and a maximum DC input tolerance of ±50 VDC. The analyzer provides a resolution of 0.02 dB for precise measurements, and the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) is optimized with maximum values of 1.6:1 from 10 MHz to 2.3 GHz and 1.7:1 from 2.3 to 2.7 GHz.

The PXI-5610 module measures 21.6 × 4.0 × 13.0 cm and occupies two PXI/cPCI slots, while the PXI-5441 module measures 21.6 × 2.0 × 13.0 cm and occupies one PXI/cPCI slot. Together, they form a complete unit weighing 1,510 grams. The power requirements differ for each module; the PXI-5610 typically consumes 25 W, whereas the PXI-5441 typically consumes 22 W. The 779079-03 is designed for indoor applications and can be installed at altitudes up to 2,000 meters above sea level. It operates efficiently in ambient temperatures of 0 °C to 55 °C for the PXI-5610 and 0 °C to 45 °C for the PXI-5441, and is capable of withstanding operational shocks up to 30 g peak, in compliance with IEC 60068-2-27 and MIL PRF-28800F Class 2 standards.
