The National Instruments 779475-01 Terminal Block, also known as the SCC-68, is an essential I/O connector solution designed to facilitate seamless signal connections with National Instruments DAQ devices, particularly those from the NI M Series or E Series. This module features a robust design that includes screw terminals and a breadboard area, enabling flexible I/O signal connections and providing bus terminals for external power and grounding. The terminal block incorporates four SCC slots, allowing users to integrate a variety of devices such as thermocouples, strain gauges, RTDs, and more, to cater to diverse measurement and control requirements.

With a typical power requirement of 1 mA at +5 VDC (±5%) when no signal conditioning is installed, the 779475-01 can also support maximum power consumption, which varies based on the installed SCC modules and the specific configurations of the breadboard area. For external power supply, it mandates a voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V, with a maximum current output of 2A, while ensuring overcurrent, overvoltage, and reverse voltage protection (±20 VDC max). Notably, the maximum working voltage between channels and earth is established at 11 VDC for enhanced safety.

The terminal block is equipped with a 68-pin male SCSI connector, four SCC sockets, and a total of 84 screw terminals (comprising 54 for analog and digital I/O, 20 for SCC, 8 for bus connections, and 2 for external power). Additionally, it includes a thermistor with an accuracy of ±0.3 °C across a temperature range of 0 to 55 °C. Designed for operational flexibility, it accommodates wire gauges ranging from 14 to 26 AWG, with specific requirements for tightening torque (0.5 to 0.6 N·m) and strip length (7 mm). The 779475-01 measures 9.63 x 7.00 x 2.09 inches and weighs 1 lb 6 oz. It is built to operate within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, with a storage temperature capacity of –20 to 70 °C and a relative humidity tolerance of 5 to 90% RH (non-condensing).
