The National Instruments 779647-10 PXI Programmable Power Supply is a precision triple-output DC power supply designed to enhance the capabilities of the PXI-4110 model series. This 3U PXI module occupies a single slot and features one nonisolated channel with a voltage range of 0 to 6 V, and two isolated channels that can deliver voltages between 0 and ±20 V, with each channel capable of supplying up to 1 A of current. The supply benefits from a 16-bit resolution, ensuring accurate programming of voltage setpoints and current limits, which is vital for precise voltage and current measurements in various design validation and manufacturing test applications.

The flexibility of the 779647-10 allows users to combine channels for increased voltage or current outputs as necessary, with fine programming increments achievable at 120 μV for the 6 V channel and 400 μV for the 20 V channels. Current sourcing is equally granular, allowing for adjustments down to 20 μA per channel within the 1 A maximum and 400 nA resolution in the 20 mA range. For optimal performance, the PXI backplane can provide internal power, or users can utilize external power through the NI APS-4100 auxiliary DC power supply, enabling full 1 A operation on all channels and maximizing the output power to 46 W.

The 779647-10 employs a hybrid approach combining switching and linear control methods, managed by an intelligent PID algorithm for enhanced power transfer efficiency. Integrated protection features, such as reverse-polarity voltage protection, overvoltage protection, and output fuses, safeguard both the power supply and connected loads, with an automatic shutdown mechanism activated during abnormal input voltage conditions.

Comprehensive control is achievable via the NI-DCPower instrument driver, allowing seamless integration with LabVIEW for intuitive setup and programming, complemented by a test panel for efficient troubleshooting.
