The National Instruments 779747-02, also known as the PXI-4498, is a high-performance PXI Sound and Vibration Module designed for demanding dynamic signal acquisition (DSA) applications requiring high-channel counts. This module features 16 analog input channels that enable simultaneous sampling for synchronized data acquisition, ensuring accuracy across all channels. Each channel is equipped with built-in anti-aliasing filters that automatically adjust to varying sampling rates, enhancing signal integrity. At the core of the 779747-02 is a 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that offers exceptional resolution and a maximum sample rate of 204.8 kS/s, delivering high-fidelity data acquisition. The module supports a flexible gain range of 0 dB to 20 dB through software-selectable input gains, with an impressive input impedance of 10 MΩ between the positive and negative inputs. Additionally, it includes Integrated Electronics Piezoelectric (IEPE) signal conditioning, enabling connection to microphones and accelerometers that require a constant current of either 0 or 4 mA. The module supports both analog and digital triggering options, allowing for configuration of start or reference triggers with programmable levels and hysteresis. Digital triggers are compatible with 5 V TTL logic and can be sourced from various inputs, such as PFI0 or PXI_Trig<0..6>. Designed to operate within a PXI or PXI Express bus interface, the 779747-02 requires power supplies of +5 V, +3.3 V, +12 V, and -12 V. Compact and robust, this module weighs just 326 grams and conforms to IEC and MIL-PRF-28800F standards for shock and vibration resistance, ensuring reliable operation in challenging environments. It meets stringent safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards, including IEC 61010-1 and EN 61326-1, and is capable of functioning in temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 55 °C, with storage temperatures from -20 °C to 70 °C. Suitable for indoor use, the 779747-02 also supports operation at altitudes up to 2,000 meters above sea level.
