The National Instruments 780063-01 PXI synchronization module, also identified as the PXIe-6672, is designed to deliver exceptional timing and synchronization capabilities within PXI Express systems. This module features a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) with a nominal frequency of 10 MHz and an impressive onboard clock accuracy of 1.6 parts per million (ppm). The 780063-01 supports dual clock signal generation: utilizing an onboard digital frequency synthesis (DDS) chip and a precise 10 MHz oscillator. The frequency tuning word facilitates the specification of desired frequencies, allowing for dynamic adjustments based on the accumulator value that corresponds to the sine-lookup table processed through the digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This module enhances system precision by driving PXI star trigger lines, managing clock and trigger signals via the PXI backplane, and providing high-stability DDS clock outputs.
