The National Instruments 781011-03, also known as the PXIe-6547, is a high-performance digital waveform generator and analyzer designed for rigorous testing applications in semiconductor devices, including microcontrollers, ASICs, DACs, and ADCs. This PXI Digital Waveform Instrument features 32 single-ended digital pins, offering user-programmable voltage levels with a resolution of 100 mV and maximum sampling frequencies of 100 MHz. The instrument can create and analyze digital waveforms at clock rates reaching 200 MHz across its bidirectional channels, with voltage compatibility spanning from 1.2 to 3.3 V to accommodate a wide range of logic levels.

Engineered for complex testing environments, the 781011-03 facilitates the development of integrated mixed-signal test systems, supported by its per-bank digital timing and hardware comparison capabilities ideal for bit-error testing. Delivering up to 400 MB/s output and 660 MB/s input streaming rates through its x4 PXI Express architecture, this instrument allows for the seamless streaming of high-definition digital video signals and audio, making it suitable for a variety of applications, including RF baseband devices and high-definition signal processing.

The 781011-03 incorporates advanced timing and synchronization features, including an internal direct digital synthesis (DDS) clock that provides subhertz resolution clocking, eliminating the need for external clock sources. It supports synchronization with other instruments through external clock inputs, utilizing SMA connectors for easy integration. With the Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) architecture, the instrument enables subnanosecond resolution synchronization across multiple SMC-based devices via the NI-TCLK API. Additionally, it is equipped with precise data delay capabilities for accurate data positioning relative to the clock edge, achieving resolutions better than 150 ps. The onboard memory of 64 Mbits per channel, combined with NI-HSDIO scripting capabilities for linking and looping waveforms, allows for efficient signal generation without software-induced delays, making the 781011-03 a versatile tool for signal intelligence, communication system design, validation, and verification.
