The National Instruments 781421-33 Electromechanical Relay Matrix Module, also known as NI 2833B, is engineered for integration within SwitchBlock systems, offering a reliable solution for high-power applications. This module is capable of handling a maximum switching voltage of 100 V and a maximum switching current of 2.0 A per channel, making it particularly suitable for demanding environments. It facilitates versatile signal routing, allowing any input to connect to any output individually or in combinations, thus simplifying wiring and enhancing test flexibility with devices such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, arbitrary waveform generators, and power supplies.

Designed for high-performance applications, the 781421-33 supports a maximum switching power of 60 W or 62.5 VA per channel, ensuring precision in signal management. It exhibits a thermal EMF of less than 10 µV, significantly reducing thermal interference during sensitive measurements. Featuring a bandwidth of 10 MHz, this relay matrix ensures optimal signal integrity, while its crosstalk and isolation characteristics provide clear separation across channels. The module is built with palladium-ruthenium gold-covered relay contacts, ensuring durability and longevity in operation, with a typical relay response time of under 5 milliseconds.

The anticipated relay lifespan is extensive, reaching up to 1 x 10⁸ cycles under no-load mechanical conditions, while the electrical lifespan, varying based on voltage and current, ranges between 1 x 10⁶ and 5 x 10⁵ cycles, positioning it well for long-term repetitive testing scenarios. The module includes a 160-position DIN I/O connector and requires a power input of 20 W at 5 V and 5 W at 3.3 V. It is intended for indoor use and operates effectively within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, with storage capabilities from -20 °C to 71 °C. Compliance with IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, and other relevant safety standards guarantees its suitability for electrical measurement and laboratory applications, while adherence to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) conditions under EN 61326-1 and FCC regulations ensures reliable performance in various environments.
