The National Instruments 781424-01 is a CompactDAQ chassis designed for Ethernet-based sensor measurement in small, distributed applications, commonly referred to as the cDAQ-9188. This chassis facilitates efficient management of timing, synchronization, and data transfer between C Series I/O modules and an external host. The cDAQ-9188 supports a diverse configuration of digital and analog I/O, as well as counter/timer functionalities, making it ideal for applications that utilize quadrature encoders, pulse-width modulation (PWM), event counting, pulse train creation, and period or frequency measurement. It is equipped with four 32-bit general-purpose counters/timers that are accessed via a hardware-timed digital C Series module. The chassis offers an analog input FIFO size of 127 samples per slot, with a timing accuracy of 50 ppm relative to the sample rate, and timing resolution of 12.5 ns. The performance capabilities are influenced by the C Series modules in use, which dictate the maximum sampling rate and channel count. Additionally, the chassis delivers hardware-timed analog output tasks with onboard regeneration, supporting up to 16 channels and a maximum aggregate update rate of 1.6 MS/s. The timing precision and resolution for analog output mirror those of the analog input. Digital triggers can be derived from any chassis or module PFI terminal and feature software-selectable polarity for most signals. Analog input and output functions encompass various triggering mechanisms, sample clocks, and timebases, while counter/timer functions include gate, source, hardware arm, and more. Networking is robust in the 781424-01, supporting TCP/IP and UDP protocols through multiple network ports for configuration and data streaming. This chassis accommodates DHCP, static, and link-local IP configurations with various MTU sizes, including a default of 1500 bytes and support for jumbo frames up to 9000 bytes. The Ethernet interface enables communication rates of 10/100/1000 Mbps, with a maximum cabling distance of 100 meters per segment, ensuring efficient data handling across wide-ranging industrial environments.
All products are covered by Industrial Automation Co.'s 2-Year Warranty.
