The National Instruments 781442-01, commonly referred to as the USB-6361, is a versatile multifunction I/O device designed for a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from basic data logging to complex control and automation tasks. This device integrates advanced timing and synchronization capabilities along with analog and digital input/output functionalities, making it well-suited for engineering and industrial automation environments. It features 16 analog input channels, which can be configured for either 16 single-ended or 8 differential measurements, boasting a 16-bit ADC resolution. The 781442-01 offers a maximum single-channel sample rate of 2 MS/s, while aggregate multichannel sampling operates at 1 MS/s, ensuring precision and accuracy across a voltage range of ±0.1 V to ±10 V. With outstanding crosstalk performance of -75 dB for adjacent channels and -95 dB for non-adjacent channels at 100 kHz, the device maintains a high degree of signal integrity, featuring no missing codes and a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 100 dB. Enhanced data handling capabilities are supported through a 2,047 sample input FIFO size and a 4,095 entry scan list memory. For analog output, the device provides two channels with 16-bit resolution and a maximum DAC rate of 2.86 MS/s, ensuring precise and consistent signal generation. The versatility of the 781442-01 is further complemented by its support for multiple analog trigger sources, including sample clock, convert clock, pause, start, reference, and additional triggers. The digital I/O section consists of 24 channels that can be independently programmed as inputs or outputs, organized into 8 channels (P0.<0..7>) and 16 channels (PFI <0..7>/P1, PFI <8..15>/P2), with a minimum pull-down resistor value of 20 kΩ and a typical value of 50 kΩ. Input voltage protection is assured, rated at ±20 V for up to two pins, providing ruggedness and reliability in varied operational settings.
