Part Number: 781907-01

The National Instruments 781907-01, known as the USRP-2921, is a sophisticated Software Defined Radio (SDR) designed for versatile communication applications. It functions as a tunable RF transceiver with a frequency range spanning from 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz and 4.9 GHz to 5.9 GHz. Equipped with high-speed analog-to-digital converters (ADC) and digital-to-analog converters (DAC), the device enables efficient streaming of baseband I/Q signals to a host computer through a 1 Gigabit Ethernet connection. The USRP-2921 excels in low-power unlicensed devices operating within ISM bands, as well as in public safety communications and industrial wireless networks.

The transmitter features a gain range of 0 dB to 35 dB, which can be adjusted in 0.5 dB increments, with an output power range of 50 mW to 100 mW (17 dBm to 20 dBm). It achieves a maximum instantaneous real-time bandwidth of 24 MHz for 16-bit samples and 48 MHz for 8-bit samples, with a highest I/Q sample rate of 25 MS/s at 16 bits and 50 MS/s at 8 bits, facilitated by a 16-bit, 400 MS/s DAC that provides an 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range (sFDR), minimizing unwanted spectral content.

On the reception side, the device maintains the consistent frequency range and boasts a gain range of 0 dB to 92.5 dB in 2 dB steps, with a maximum input power of -15 dBm and a noise figure varying between 5 dB and 7 dB. The receiver's real-time bandwidth is up to 19 MHz for 16-bit sample width and 36 MHz for 8-bit sample width, supported by a 14-bit, 100 MS/s ADC with an impressive 88 dB sFDR. Operating in half-duplex mode, the USRP-2921 is not capable of simultaneous transmission and reception.

The device operates with a power consumption ranging from 12 W to 15 W, peaking at 18 W, and is powered via a 6 V, 3 A external DC power supply. It measures 15.875 cm x 4.826 cm x 21.209 cm and weighs approximately 1.193 kg. Designed primarily for indoor applications, the USRP-2921 operates effectively within an environmental temperature range of 23 °C ± 5 °C and a relative humidity tolerance of 10% to 90% non-condensing.
