The National Instruments 782257-01, also known as the USB-6363, is a versatile Multifunction I/O Device designed for a wide array of applications including test automation, control, and data logging. This device features 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels, delivering precise measurements with a 16-bit ADC resolution, ensuring high accuracy and the elimination of missing codes. It includes four analog output channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution that guarantees monotonicity and a differential non-linearity of ±1 LSB.
Equipped with advanced NI-STC3 technology, the USB-6363 provides sophisticated timing and synchronization capabilities, which enhance its adaptability in various measurement scenarios. This includes independent analog and digital timing engines and the ability to perform retriggerable measurements. The device supports a single analog trigger with multiple functions such as start, reference, pause, sample clock, and convert clock, sourced from AI channels (0-31) or APFI channels (0 or 1).
In terms of digital I/O, the USB-6363 offers a total of 48 channels, comprising 32 channels dedicated to P0 (0-31) and 16 channels divided among PFI (0-7) and P1 and PFI (8-15) and P2. Each digital terminal is customizable for input or output operations, with input voltage protection capable of handling up to ±20 V on two pins. The device's pull-down resistor values typically range around 50 kΩ with a minimum of 20 kΩ, making it suitable for a variety of digital control and monitoring tasks.
Additionally, the USB-6363 integrates four general-purpose 32-bit counter/timers that can measure two-edge separation, pulse width, semi-period, period, and edge counting. It supports two-pulse encoding and Channel Z reloading for X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding, ideal for precise location measurements. The counters operate with internal base clocks of 100 MHz, 20 MHz, and 100 kHz, or an external base clock frequency ranging from 0 MHz to 25 MHz, featuring a base clock precision of 50 ppm. These counters can be utilized for generating pulses, pulse trains with dynamic updates, frequency division, and equivalent time sampling, making the USB-6363 a comprehensive solution for multifunction I/O applications.
