The National Instruments 782835-39 (PXIe-2739) is a high-performance 16x16, 2-wire PXI matrix switch module specifically engineered for efficient signal routing within automated test systems. Utilizing electromechanical relays, this module offers immediate switch operations and considerable flexibility in routing configurations. It accommodates a maximum voltage of 100 V for both channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground applications, with each channel supporting up to 2 A of current and a maximum switching power of 60 W (or 62.5 VA). The initial DC path resistance is guaranteed to be below 1.3 Ω, ensuring reliable long-term performance, with an end-of-life resistance of 2.3 Ω or higher. The module's minimum switching load requirement is set at 20 mV/1 mA. It features a bandwidth capability of up to 10 MHz, supporting both 1-wire (50 Ω) and 2-wire (100 Ω) terminations. In terms of RF performance, it provides open channel isolation of at least 77 dB at 10 kHz, declining to 42 dB at 1 MHz, while maintaining channel-to-channel crosstalk levels of -70 dB at 10 kHz through to -32 dB at 1 MHz, enhancing overall signal integrity. With a relay operate time averaging 1 ms and a maximum of 3.3 ms, the module can simultaneously act upon 90 relays, each crafted from palladium-ruthenium (gold-covered) and designed for easy field replacement. The electromechanical relays have a mechanical lifespan of approximately 100 million cycles and an electrical lifespan of up to 2.5 million cycles for low-power scenarios. The device operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, while storage temperatures can range from -40 °C to 71 °C, making it suitable for indoor applications. The 782835-39 comes in a compact 3U, one-slot PXI/cPCI module form factor with dimensions of 21.6 cm x 2.0 cm x 13.0 cm and weighs 423 g. It complies with various EMC and safety standards and features health monitoring capabilities, including onboard relay count tracking, a temperature sensor, and functional and resistive relay self-tests, as facilitated through the NI Switch Health Center.
