The National Instruments 783087-01 PXIe-4464 PXI Sound and Vibration Module is an advanced measurement solution designed for precise sound and vibration analysis. This module features four simultaneously sampled input channels that are configurable for either differential or pseudodifferential operation, each independently selectable through software. The 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) delivers high-resolution data with a sampling rate that ranges from 100 samples per second (S/s) to 204.8 kilohertz (kS/s). With a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 119 dB, the 783087-01 excels in applications requiring accurate detection of low-level signals amid noise.

The module incorporates a FIFO buffer capable of storing 1,023 samples, facilitating seamless data transfer using direct memory access (DMA) and programmed I/O techniques. Users can choose from six software-selectable input ranges, spanning from ±316 mV to ±42.4 V, allowing for customization tailored to specific measurement needs. For synchronization across multiple devices, the onboard clock ensures precise timing while enabling coordination with other modules via the PXI backplane clock (PXIe_CLK100).

Physically, the 783087-01 measures 16 cm × 10 cm (6.3 in. × 3.9 in.) and features a BNC female connector for analog input alongside an SMB male connector for digital triggering. Its operational requirements include a current draw of 3.0 A at +3.3 V and 2.0 A at +12 V. Designed for indoor use, this module operates efficiently in ambient temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 55 °C and can be stored in temperatures from -20 °C to 70 °C, with humidity levels of 10% to 90% non-condensing during operation and 5% to 95% non-condensing during storage. The module is mountable at altitudes of up to 2000 meters and is characterized by a pollution degree rating of 2, making it suitable for various industrial applications.
