The National Instruments 784240-01, known as the cDAQ-9137 CompactDAQ Controller, is a high-performance device designed for industrial monitoring and control applications. It is powered by an Intel Atom E3845 quad-core processor operating at a frequency of 1.91 GHz, complemented by a 2 MB shared L2 cache and 2 GB of DDR3L RAM. The controller is equipped with 32 GB of nonvolatile SSD storage and features a robust connectivity suite that includes two Ethernet ports compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards, supporting 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 1000Base-T Ethernet interfaces, with adjustable communication rates of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps.

Additional connectivity options consist of one USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device port and two USB 2.0 Hi-Speed host ports, as well as an RS-232 serial port capable of a maximum baud rate of 115,200 bps. The CMOS battery has a typical lifespan of 10 years under powered conditions, with reduced longevity in higher temperatures. The device is rated for operation in a temperature range from -20 °C to 55 °C and can withstand relative humidity levels of 10% to 90% (noncondensing). For storage purposes, it can endure temperatures from -40 °C to 85 °C with a humidity range of 5% to 95% (noncondensing). The compact design measures 12.95 in. × 3.47 in. × 4.67 in. and weighs 2.5 kg, making it suitable for indoor applications at altitudes up to 5,000 m. The cDAQ-9137 supports both Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7) and NI Linux Real-Time operating systems, featuring eight slots for added flexibility in module integration.
