The National Instruments 785033-01, also known as the PXIe-1209, is a high-performance dual-channel PXI Pulse Generator engineered for precision timing applications. This fully programmable device offers pulse timing granularity down to 10 picoseconds and supports repetition rates of up to 100 MHz. The 785033-01 enables independent pulse generation with extensive control over various parameters, including pulse delay, double pulse spacing, width, and period. It features multiple operational modes, allowing for single or continuous pulsing as well as single or double pulse and burst modes that can generate between 2 and over 1 billion pulses.

The device operates with an internal clock frequency ranging from 0.1 Hz to 100 MHz, achieving a resolution of 0.093 Hz and an impressive accuracy of 0.01%. Its pulse output characteristics include a voltage range from -1.5 V to 6.5 V, with a 50 Ω output impedance; it provides an output resolution of 2 mV with an accuracy of ±(2.0% + 100 mV). The synchronization output features a trigger timing of less than 35 ns, selectable amplitudes of 5 V or 6.5 V, and a source/sink current capacity of 60 mA. Rise and fall times are specified at 2 V/ns, with software-selectable pulse widths of 5 ns or 55 ns.

The generator also incorporates a programmable threshold ranging from -5 V to +5 V, achieving a resolution of 39 mV and precision with an accuracy of ±(5% + 150 mV), supporting a maximum frequency of 100 MHz and a minimum pulse width of 3 ns. The 785033-01 connects via front-panel I/O with MCX connectors, allowing for configurable impedance. For its operation, the device requires +3.3 VDC at 3A and +12 VDC at 1.6 A. It adheres to environmental standards, functioning optimally at temperatures between 0°C and 55°C and at altitudes up to 10,000 feet, while supporting relative humidity levels of 5 to 95% non-condensing at temperatures below 30°C. The unit weighs 0.567 kg (1.26 lbs), making it a compact yet powerful addition to your automation and control solutions.
