The National Instruments 785034-01, also known as the PXIe-3352 Rubidium PXI Synchronization Module, is designed to deliver high precision synchronization for PXI and third-party instrumentation. This module generates stable clock signals with both sine and square wave outputs, featuring an output frequency of 10 MHz. The sine wave output achieves an amplitude of 10 dBm ± 2 dBm into a 50 Ω load, while the CMOS square wave output is provided at 2.5 V into 10 kΩ. The 785034-01 ensures superior spectral purity, maintaining harmonics lower than -44 dBc and spurious signals below -80 dBc within the 10 Hz to 100 kHz range.

With impressive phase noise performance, the module measures -102 dBc/Hz at a 10 Hz offset, -135 dBc/Hz at a 100 Hz offset, -145 dBc/Hz at a 1 kHz offset, and -150 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset. It boasts an initial accuracy of 5 x 10^-11 at 25° C and maintains frequency stability with a drift of 5 x 10^-11 per month. The module features a rapid warm-up time, achieving lock in under 4 minutes and a stability of 5 x 10^-10 within 5 minutes at 25° C. A built-in GPS receiver, requiring an external antenna, enhances long-term stability by disciplining the rubidium oscillator, supporting 22 parallel tracking channels while acquiring signals from up to 66 satellites on the L1 frequency (1575.42 MHz) with C/A code. The GPS receiver ensures precise timing accuracy of ± 11 ns for 1 pulse-per-second (1 pps) signals, with quick acquisition times of less than 1 second for hot starts, under 30 seconds for warm starts, and typically 32 seconds for cold starts.

The module includes SMA connectors for sine wave, square wave, and 1 pps outputs, along with inputs for external rubidium power and the GPS antenna. Front panel status indicators display system fail, access, and rubidium lock conditions. Power requirements are +3.3 VDC at 1.2 A and +12 VDC at 2.5 A. The NI 785034-01 is compatible with various software platforms, including VXI plug & play for WIN32, WIN64, LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, and Visual Studio, and comes with an interactive control soft front panel. It meets rigorous environmental standards, operating within a temperature range of 0° C to 55° C at altitudes up to 10,000 ft, with storage capabilities between -40° C to 75° C at altitudes up to 15,000 ft. The module carries CE certification for emissions, immunity, and safety, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 35,740 hours. Weighing 0.567 kg (1.26 lbs), it is designed to fit within a 2-slot width PXI Express chassis.
