The National Instruments AL-3011 Resistor Emulation Board (Part Number: 787890-01) is engineered for compatibility with the National Instruments Switch Load Signal Conditioning (SLSC) system and is optimized for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation applications. This versatile module features 16 independent channels, each capable of simulating resistive sensors across a resistance range of 10 Ω to 8 MΩ. The board's fault insertion (FIU) capabilities allow each channel to simulate various fault conditions, such as wiring damage or sensor failure, thereby facilitating the validation and verification processes for electronic control unit (ECU) hardware and software.

Designed for seamless integration into existing configurations, the AL-3011 is compatible with NI PXI and Compact-RIO instrumentation systems. It includes two common reference buses, enabling flexible connections to a variety of device under test (DUT) inputs. For optimal adaptability in testing scenarios, the reference (REF) of each channel can either connect to DUT_GND or be disabled. Additionally, eight channels can be connected to DUT_PWR, while the remaining eight channels can link to other DUT inputs.

This board is particularly effective for emulating sensors and actuators, such as temperature and pressure sensors, thanks to its extensive simulation capabilities and high isolation between channels, resulting in precise and accurate emulation. The AL-3011 supports a maximum voltage of 60 V, a maximum current of 110 mA, and a maximum power rating of 400 mW per channel. Included with the product, the LabVIEW driver and Custom Device Driver for VeriStand enhance the ease of integration and usage, expediting the setup process while ensuring compatibility with existing NI software solutions.
