The National Instruments GPIB-422CV MicroGPIB Converter facilitates seamless communication between IEEE 488 interfaces and RS-422 ports. Available in two models—part number 180465-02 with a 115 VAC power supply and part number 180465-32 with a 230 VAC power supply—both variants feature 256K of dynamic RAM. The GPIB-422CV operates in a transparent data conversion mode, requiring no special commands for control. Its integrated character buffer effectively manages data flow between devices, enhancing operational efficiency by accommodating slower devices within a faster port configuration. This MicroGPIB Converter allows for the connection of GPIB controllers or modules to RS-422 compatible devices, such as printers and plotters, thereby integrating them into an existing GPIB network. Powered by the NEC uPD7210 chip, the GPIB-422CV ensures quick response times and reliable data transfers through its interrupt-driven GPIB and serial ports, including full compatibility with Macintosh serial interfaces.
