The National Instruments MID-7604 Stepper Motor Drive is designed for compatibility with NI-7330, NI-7350, and NI-7340 motion controllers, providing an effective solution for precise motion control in both laboratory and industrial environments. With the capability to deliver motor drive currents ranging from 0.2 A to 1.4 A at a nominal voltage of 24 VDC across four selectable axes, this drive is well-equipped for diverse applications. Featuring an IM481H modular hybrid bipolar chopper driver with a chopping frequency of 20 kHz, the MID-7604 integrates essential functionalities for connecting encoders, limit switches, and motors to compatible National Instruments motion controllers.

Acting as a comprehensive system interface and power amplifier, the MID-7604 allows for simultaneous control of four axes. The flexible current-per-phase settings enable compatibility with various stepper motors, while dedicated connector blocks for motor power, limit switches, and encoders simplify field wiring. The drive includes four levels of amplifier disable/inhibit protection to ensure system safety, along with a host bus interlock circuit designed to immediately shut down all connected stepper drives if the host computer is disconnected.

The integrated power supply supports operational configurations of either 230 VAC at 50 Hz or 115 VAC at 60 Hz, selectable via a live voltage switch. This model provides a continuous power output of 80 W across all four axes and supports a maximum quadrature frequency of 1 MHz. The default micro-stepping configuration provides 10 microsteps per step (2000 steps/rev), with additional microstepping options available through DIP switches. Each axis features a dedicated 5-position screw terminal block for motor power wiring and is connected via a 68-pin female high density VHDCI motion I/O connector. The MID-7604 measures 12.1 x 10.0 x 1.7 inches and weighs 10 pounds. It operates within a temperature range of 0 ºC to 40 ºC and can be safely stored at temperatures from -20 ºC to 70 ºC, with a non-condensing humidity tolerance of 10% to 90% RH. A three-year warranty is included, and user manuals are available for download. For pricing details, please contact a sales representative.
