The National Instruments NI-9982 is a robust 13-pin female screw terminal block designed to deliver reliable connectivity for the NI-9218 C Series Universal Analog Input Module. Its versatile design features two back-end connection options: a 9-pin male LEMO and a 9-pin male D-SUB, allowing users to select the connection type that best suits their system's requirements. The NI-9982 is specifically engineered to support Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) Class 1 sensors, enabling automatic data transmission when paired with the NI-9218, thereby enhancing communication capabilities in both LEMO and D-SUB configurations. The product is compatible with additional versions, including NI-9982L, NI-9982D, and NI-9982F, providing increased flexibility for complex testing applications. For environments requiring TEDS Class 2 sensors, alternative modules such as NI-9983L, NI-9984L, NI-9985L, and NI-9986L should be considered.

Designed for harsh industrial settings, the NI-9982 operates reliably in a temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C and can withstand storage conditions as low as -40 °C up to 85 °C. Although it is not waterproof, it features an IP40 ingress protection rating, indicating a sturdy design suitable for dusty environments. The terminal block is rated for Pollution Degree 2 conditions and can function effectively in relative humidity levels from 10% to 90% and tolerate conditions up to 95% humidity. The NI-9982 is built to endure significant mechanical stress, withstanding shock impacts of up to 50 g and vibrations of up to 5 g within a frequency range of 10 Hz to 500 Hz. Furthermore, it is capable of operation at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters, ensuring durability and reliability across a wide array of industrial applications.
